Just when I really didn’t think it could get any worse…
Was working on a client’s posts and thought I’d go ahead and capture the image that is in the post to use in the Featured Image slot – normally with WordPress, the Featured Image slot is used so a thumbnail will show up in archives and when feeding over to your social media. Some themes will pull whatever image is in the post, but not always, so it’s a good idea to fill in the Featured Image slot so you control what is seen in archives or feeding. So I did.
Revisited the home page and to my surprise, there were now 2 of the same image for every post that’s on the home page – only because Point2 has set it up to be the full text, not summary. And has not given us control over what we see on the home page.
Here’s a sample of what the home page looks like when I don’t use the Featured Image slot within any given post of the blog (you’ll also see how some of the html is showing):

So I’d strongly suggest “testing” one post where you can fill in the Featured Image slot and double check the home page before wasting your time with the Featured Image slot at all.
